Octomom on Oprah and American Idol: Can This Be True?

Valerie Ferrari
News of Oprah's plan to have John Edwards' mistress, Rielle Hunter, on her show in May sparked controversy and disappointment among the talk queen's fans. Promos also appeared on Oprah Winfrey's website advertising Oprah's plans to interview Nadya Suleman, better known as Octomom, the human incubator and various other unflattering soubriquets. The promos soon disappeared but both Suleman's attorney, Jeff Czech and Harpo employees are confirming that Octomom's Oprah appearance has merely been rescheduled.

Oprah Winfrey sent a camera crew to tape Nadya Suleman at her La Habra home, and interviewed her . The footage will air on The Oprah Winfrey Show on April 20, Suleman's attorney has confirmed.

Jeff Czech also said that Octomom will be appearing the April 21 American Idol charity show "Idol Gives Back." The attorney did not go reveal what talent exactly Suieman plans to put on display nor why or how she got invited to appear. Czech talked instead about the footage that will air on Oprah, saying that Suleman "pretty much had a camera in her face the whole time." Oprah's camera crew stayed overnight and filmed all 14 of Suleman's children. The interview with Oprah, according to Czech, contains " A lot of straight talk about surviving as the mother of 14. Some hardballs ... no beating around the bush."

Czech said that Octomom was asked to produce receipts to defend herself against reports of overspending while she faces foreclosure. He also said that "Everybody thinks she's on government aid, and she's not," and indicated that Nadya Suleman was not being paid by Oprah. How, then, can her appearance help her save her home? TMZ reported last month that Oprah and Dr. Phil had been asked to assist Octomom in some way but had both declined. Yet here she is a month later coming on Oprah.

Hmmm ... Octomom ... Rielle Hunter ... the way this is going, perhaps Ludacris will get his wish to be on Oprah live before long. Maybe with Tiger Woods, and he can perform the "Sexting" parody.

I love your commentary and spin on things, Val. All I know if Octomom has 14 mouths to feed and is not on government aid, she has to be doing some exploiting to get that cash.

Pfft. Show receipts to defend herself against overspending? Wut? If I were trying to make sense of that statement, I would bet the only receipts forthcoming are related to the household and all the Guess, A&F, nail salon, plastic surgery, (shall I go on?) receipts will be conspicuously missing. All that crappe was purhased by the tooth fairy.
    Please. Give us a break.

The tern Octomom makes her less human in the public eye actually. There sure people to support and hate her.In the end though she's has to do what's right to feed and clothe her 14 children.

I can undertand 'Oprah', but 'Idol Gives Back'? Now that's just strange!

It would be interesting to know how she is supporting all her kids if she's not on some form of assistance. Maybe we'll find out.

Appearances on Oprah almost always help, whether good or bad. People have choices and people need to find ways to make better ones if they chose the wrong one. It may be reported she isn't on gov't aid, but she is on some kind of aid and continues to get "paid" for publicity. I would agree she overspends.
