Octuplet Mother- Nadya Suleman Spotted by TMZ Shopping for Video Games Last Night

Octomom Puts Those Donations to Good Use

Robin Costello
TMZ photographers spotted Nadya Suleman- also known as Octomom, last night shopping for video games. She was pictured alone, not one of her 14 children in sight.

This was the day or two after her broadcasted exclusive interview with Today show's Ann Curry on Dateline MSNBC. The same interview where she said (lied) that she had no source of income. She also said does not receive welfare.

Nadya receives Social Security benefits for three of her six kids (Nadya- that is an income) and $490 a month in food stamps (Nadya- that is welfare).

She has also set up a website (intentionally not named) asking for donations to help support her 14 children.

Since when are video games a necessity to raise kids? Kids might try to make us believe it is but it's not. I promise you.

Before I get started on my opinion, I want it on record that I pray for the very best of everything for all 14 children. The Octuplets are still in the hospital while Nadya Suleman and her six other children are staying in an undisclosed location for their safety due to death threats.

It seems the entire world including Nadyas' mother, Angela Suleman is angry with Nadya, not for her 'unconventional choice' to be a single mother- the reason she believes so many people are upset- but because she has no means whatsoever to support 14 children.

Her interview with Ann Curry was a train wreck both for her and for Ann Curry. I have not seen many of Ann Currys' interviews but I think she could have been a little more in control of that interview. Nadya did not really answer anything that Ann asked and the stuff that came out of those balloon lips of hers was pure BS. Before Ann could finish asking the question Nadya was over talking her the entire time.

Ann asked all the right questions but Nadya played games with all her answers. When Ann mentioned that people believed she had all those children to make money off them, her response was this:

"That's funny how untrue that is," Suleman said. "Money? Money is necessary to raise children. But it's - it's paper. It is paper. To me, it is superfluous in contrast to the importance of my kids."

What?

I tried that line with my internet company this morning. They did not share Nadyas' feelings. They made me pay them anyway.

1) She conceived all these children using IVF while getting disability.

2) They all have the same father- Nadya calls him a platonic friend, her mother says it was a boyfriend that begged her to marry him.

3) She has a french manicure. That just bugs me.

4) She has had plastic surgery.

5) She said she was in the past and will be in the future, living off student loan money.

6) She lives with her parents and said she pays a small amount or rent- while her mother says she's been supporting Nadya and the children herself and has never seen a dime of any money. She did not even know about the disability payments that totaled about $165,000.

7) By her own account, she would have had this last round of IVF while receiving food stamps.

Is it just me, or does anyone else smell fraud?

Nadya believes that when she finishes her schooling -in about a year and a half- that she will be able to support all of her kids herself. She is already around $50,000 in debt and will be a councilor when she graduates.

Councilors do not make the kind of money she will need to make to support all of those kids. Remember we are talking about 14 kids, three that are special needs and it is still too early to tell about the Octuplets yet.

Every time she walks out the door to go to work, she will go deeper into debt from childcare costs alone. She will not bring home a dime for her family but her childcare workers will be able to pay off their credit card debts.

However, we are to understand that she was fulfilling a need.

This last part totally killed me the most- quoted directly from Ann Currys' exclusive Dateline interview:

Ann Curry: So, the world outside is saying, "What are you doing?"

Nadya Suleman: I'm providing for my children. I'm providing myself to my children. I'm loving them unconditionally, accepting them unconditionally. I have a plan -

Ann Curry: But you're not providing for your children. You don't have the income to provide for your children.

Nadya Suleman: I am providing for my children. I am. They don't feel it. They don't feel as though we're struggling.

Ann Curry: Your children don't?

Nadya Suleman: Absolutely not. No. Everything I do is for them. I'll stop my life for them and be present with them. And hold them. And be with them. And how many parents do that? I'm sure there are many that do, but many don't. And that's unfortunate. That is selfish.

Excuse me? What exactly did that mean? How about every parent does that? Can you even believe she said that? I am sure it wasn't just me but most other parents were insulted by that too.

Maybe except the selfish ones- probably the ones that have 10 kids under the age of 2 to fulfill a 'need'.

Where was all of this stopping her life, being present and holding them when she was out buying a video? Shouldn't she be holding a baby for their allotted 45 minutes that she says she holds them a day?

I am sorry. I don't care what she says. There is no possible way she can take care of all those kids by herself. Even if she had a husband (and with her mothers reluctant help), it is still not possible.

Look at Kate Gosselin. She only has eight kids and she is constantly exhausted. Kate has always had helpers too.

I think Nadyas' grand plan at the TLC lifestyle of big families and big money blew up in her face. That ship sailed with our sinking economy and job losses. We don't want to watch people being rewarded for bad choices on our dime anymore.

The thing that stinks about this whole mess- besides the hundreds of diapers a week- is it will be the 14 innocent kids that suffer the most in the end.

I just don't think this woman has a real grasp on reality. This is sad for her and the children. May God help them all.

This story is not going to end well for Suleman. It's only a matter of time before those kids get taken away from her. I don't think anyone wishes that on her or her kids, but it's the truth.

The only photo I want to see of her, is of her going to jail for something.

Video games? She oughta download some free coloring pages from the Internet and take out library books. Act like the rest of us, people on a budget. Good article!

My last comment didn't appear, but I basically said that it is the mother's responsibility to care for her children. But with 14 children going out to work would be very challenging.
