Octuplets Grandmother in Foreclosure

Is Nadya Suleman to Blame?

Lynda Altman
The grandmother of the octuplets born to Nadya Suleman faces foreclosure on her 3 bedroom home. Perhaps providing support for her daughter and six grandchildren contributed to this situation.

Angela Suleman, mother of Nadya Suleman, is in arrears on her mortgage to the tune of $23,224.98. According to the documents filed on February 3, 2009, Angela Suleman has not made a payment on her 3 bedroom home in California since May 5, 2008. As a result of this, she is facing foreclosure. The original loan amount was $453,750.00. Indymac is the original mortgage holder.

In addition to facing foreclosure on her home, Angela Suleman is seeking bankruptcy. The foreclosure documents state that her bankruptcy proceedings have not been completed. It appears that mom will no longer be able to support Nadya Suleman and her 14 children.

Nadya Suleman, the woman who recently gave birth to octuplets in California, has been living with her mother, Angela Suleman until recently. Nadya has a total of 14 children with no means of supporting them. You can read my article Octuplets Mom Receives Public Assistance; Questions of Fraud are Raised for more information about Nadya Suleman's financial situation.

Is Nadya Suleman to blame for her mother's financial ruin? Probably. Her situation certainly contributed to Angela Suleman's inability to pay her bills. According to Angela Suleman, Nadya did not contribute at all to household expenses although she was receiving food stamps and disability payments that amounted to close to $3,000.00 per month.

Nadya Suleman has shown no remorse for her mother's current situation. What does the soon to be homeless mom of 14 do to handle the situation? She goes shopping at Nordstrom Department Store in the Brea Mall outside of Los Angeles! That's right, shopping at Nordstrom. What did she buy? Makeup at the MAC counter! Not baby clothes or other baby items, but makeup. Lip gloss to be exact. Total cost just over $15.00 with tax. This way she can look good when she applies for more food stamps and public assistance. Nice to know where the donation money is going. There is nothing wrong with looking good, but you don't have to shop at Nordstrom for makeup, especially when you are receiving public assistance and are relying on the kindness of strangers to support you and your family.

Overall, Nadya has proven to be someone of less than stellar character. Now that her mom is in bankruptcy, will California be far behind?

Nadya Suleman and her 14 children are supported by the taxpayers of California. Even though she receives food stamps, Cal-Med (Medicaid, federal medical assistance), and is soon to be homeless she shops at Nordstrom.
