Susan Jane
Ode to Donna Cavanagh

Her name is Donna Cavanagh

Her poetry makes me ponder

But somewhere in my daily rush

I've become a bad responder

I try to read her verse each day

But now I have a build up

Sixty-seven unread poems

How will I ever catch up

What I've done and it should work

Is put a plan in place

To read just two poems every day

And make it like a race

One from the top, one from the bottom

What a good idea

It will only take me thirty-four days

And the backlog will be clear

Now, I'm no mathematician

My calculation is dense

I need to read the new daily poems

As well, or my plan won't make sense

I sound just like a crazy thing

To put this plan in place

But Donna's poems mean much to me

I have to win this race!
