Jumping in the leaves and the smell of the last cutting of hay
Red, yellow, orange, and gold
Pumpkins galore big and bold
Sweet potato and apple pies
Beautiful pink and bright blue skies
Wispy clouds floating by ever so slow
Squirrels, gathering nuts, scurrying to and fro
The sun is bright but does not provide as much heat
Big bowls of homemade warm soup are such a treat
The bears are ready to hibernate
And birds are flying south waiting for winter to dissipate
Snow will soon blanket the ground
And the stillness will be the only sound
Longer nights and shorter days
Means winter is certainly near by
But oh what beauty you can find if you try
