Ode to the Ham Sandwich

There once was a man who wanted to write a story that would capture people's attention.
Regardless of the topic or who it hurt, all he wanted was a national mention.

So he wrote all day and all night slaving away at the keys.
Then the idea hit him, he would write about a ham sandwich ... with cheese!

The story would come from a recent event where a kid taunted some others with a ham steak.
Little did the man know that this would be a huge mistake!

He changed some words and added some more and even quoted some lines.
He worked and worked on that little article - he didn't think that anyone would mind.

But when he claimed that a "ham response plan" was being made
Boy oh boy, the story didn't fade.

The story appeared on FOX News
Which sent people raging, hitting televisions and throwing their shoes!

"How dare they suspend the boy for a ham sandwich in a bag!"
The prinicpal should be shot, and even his hag!

But little did the people know that this story was just bull,
A simple little prank that would gain a national pull.

The moral of the story is as simple as can be,
Don't write crap like this and send it in as news - as it will be "Off With His/Her Head!" like it was with Marie!
