Ode to Spring

Janice Meyer
Over hills and valleys, you paint your green,
deliver brighter days and warmth for all.
Energy is wrought through soft warm showers,
time to till the garden, plant the flowers.
Only you can change cold winds to gentle breeze,
stop blustery, icy rain that clings on trees.
Place a bud upon each branch, as birds nest.
Rake the lawn, gather last year's spent debris
into a mulch and save for fall's blessed plea.
Now is the time for you to reign supreme,
glory yours, as the world awakes from dream.
