What one believes. The world view one bases their decisions on. What one chooses to teach their children. One has to decide on some criteria to determine what is a nutritious kernel of wisdom or what is just chaff. The world presents multiple methods of determining what in life is truly valuable. Even atheist, who have decided that God is an invention of man, have chosen a way of relating to this question. Is something that is considered true of God or an invention of man? Even sacred texts must be viewed in light of this question. If one does not ask this question, one becomes a religious "yes-man" who is being a poor steward of one of their most precious talents-free will.
When it comes to truth, how does one be a good steward of free will? Like a small child, question everything. Also, share what one believes, this has been done since humanity began to communicate. This is not something one quantifies in a single article. It is in fact, a life's work for all who choose to undertake it. For this writer, a journey begins. A journey through that which is considered true. All the while asking the question, "of God or man." If you are willing, feel free to come along!

Post a CommentVery Nice :)
josho, thanks for your comment. Please keep coming back. I would like to know more about how you have drawn your conclusions.
God tells us nothing. It is in the heart.
Stop listening to God, and listen to your heart. Symbolism is rampant in the bible, it is mixed up, twisted and obsolete. If you are a practicing christian, I am sorry. Sorry that you do not realize that most of your people know nothing of true love for god, which is mother earth. Selfishness and greed have invaded the church for millenia. If you want to find true purpose, realize there is no heaven, no hell, only a transfer of spirit back to the cosmos for an unknown purpose. Ignorance has replaced the search for truth, and I have found god through my own searches, but he is not a vengeful God, not a righteous god. He is not a he. It is all of us, working together as a team for a better day.
The bible can be summed up pretty easily;
Be a good person.
Do kind for others.
Avoid selfishness.
Take personal inventory of your actions

Doesn't take a genious....or a pastor. God is not at church, but in your soul.
Lisa, I agree with you completely. Having a church home is invaluable. I hope your church leadership encourages a questioning attitude.
Very thought-provoking article, brother. Free will does allow us to choose for ourselves, and what might be true for one person, may not hold true for someone else. As for religion, there is nothing wrong with following a Christian religion. I love my Church. To me, it is a beautiful way to express one's devotion to Christ, and I thank God that I live in a country where I can worship (or not) in any way that I choose.
