Neuschwanstein Castle is actually not in Berlin but is a short train or bus trip away. Neuschwanstein Castle is the most famous castle in all of Germany and possibly on the continent. Neuschwanstein Castle is not a really old castle but it is a castle that was made to be what a classical castle was supposed to be. The construction of this amazing castle nearly bankrupted the German state that made it.
Alternative Berlin
Alternative Berlin is a tour that is held in English twice a day at 11:00 AM and 1PM at the Starbucks by the TV tower. The tour is free but tips are common. The tour takes you on the Berlin transit system and focuses on underground art, as well as tech wonders, and rock and other underground forms of music in Berlin. This is a must for fans of urban chic, art, or music. This is certainly one of the more unusual Berlin attractions.
The Berlin Experts
The Berlin Experts are another tour group. This tour is focused more on architecture, history, and culture. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and you will learn all kinds of obscure and interesting facts from these experts. They even offer boat ride versions of the tour. This is a great overall tour to learn about Berlin. This tour is also in English and their English is great when I went.
Movie Park Germany is a tourist destination for Germans and even a small number of Europeans but you are not likely to find and Americans here. The park compares favorably with theme parks in America. Fans of theme parks will love this place. It is not a spot that other American tourist will have visited which makes this an unusual Berlin attraction.
The Deutsches Historisches Museum is the German history museum. This is a popular destination for Germans but not well known outside of Germany. The museum features exhibits from the entire history of Germany from the prehistoric days to modern times. This is a very large museum and will take hours to see everything.
While Berlin may not be known for lots of famous attractions there are still some great unusual Berlin attractions to see. Whatever kind of things you like to see from history, amusements, to art you will be able to find it in Berlin.
