This is a charming book about a young duck that is hesitant about going to school. With her stomach filled with jitters she couldn't possibly eat any breakfast let alone drink any juice! When it was time to put on her coat and shoes, Baby Duck took a very long time. Finally, with her school bag all set to go, Baby Duck's parents and baby sister, Hot Stuff, head off to school.

Along the way, Baby Duck drags her feet as she looks behind and says good-bye to the objects in her path, including her house! With a sad face she appears to be uncertain about what lies ahead and unsure of how everything will turn out until she spots a familiar face in the school yard --- her Grampa!

In the book, Baby Duck sings two songs that confirm her apprehension about going to school. In her first song she expresses her discontent about going to school because her teacher will be mean and she will not make any friends!

Can Grampa save the day for Baby Duck? Will Baby Duck's perception change? Will she meet any friends? Will she like her teacher? Does she sing a different song towards the end?

Off to School, Baby Duck! is an insightful book that teaches young children that every child has jitters on the first day of school. The illustrations were adorable with bright colors and excellent detail. The expression on the character's faces was in perfect timing with all of the events in the book. I believe children and parents alike will find this book to be delightful and entertaining!
