Office Gifts Appropriate for Managers to Give to Employees

Bill Frische
If you are a manager of employees then you should know the holiday season is coming up. You also should know that this is a good time to express appreciation to your staff for the hard work they performed for you and for your company this year. But gift giving gets expensive so I am going to help you find good gifts for you employees for under $20.

Everyone has a 'Wally' in their group. This is someone who loves coffee and drinks coffee all day. A really good gift for this person is some Caribou or Starbucks coffee. Be sure that you find out what type of coffee this person likes. A "Full City Roast" is a lighter roast and the flavors are apt to be milder A "French Roast" is a very dark roast and is apt to be much more bold in flavor. Usually a pound of good coffee runs around $15.

Another good gift for an employee is a magazine subscription. You can get them very cheaply online. The catch here is you have to know what the employee like to do in their spare time and what their level of experience is. It is not a good gift to give your PC tech a subscription to PC World. That is their job. Find out what their hobbies are and go from there.

For the technie in the office, there are lots of gifts at thinkgeek.com. This is the home of Despair posters which are always popular. Other gadgets and USB powered devices abound. One of my favorites is the USB plasma ball. But if that does not turn your fancy, there are an abundance of other items.

For the golfer in the group, you can get customized golf balls at customizedgoldballs.com. You can personalize these balls with up to three lines of text. The come in boxes of 12 and run $19.99 if you choose the Top Flite XL Distance personalized golf balls. Be sure to order these enough ahead of Christmas so they arrive on time.

Lastly, there is is the Office Space Kit. This is a cubical decoration kit is available at abernook.com and costs $15. It is based on the Office Space movie which is a cult favorite among office workers. Some of you have even lived though the events that the movie is based on.

Whatever options you choose for your employees, make sure you choose with good taste and appropriateness to your intended target.
