If you have been elected to organize this year's office party, don't stress on the details. This is easy to accomplish. Here are some suggestions for office holiday party ideas, but feel free to add some of your own to make it even better.

Here are some office holiday party ideas to help you save money and have a festive party.Money saved on paper plates and decorations can be spent on snacks and food. Save on food costs by buying some items at Dollar Stores or checking the local sales ads.

1. Make yourself a list of names of employees. You will need an accurate head count for snacks and food. You will want to buy enough for everyone attending the party. To help defer some of the costs, you can post a signup sheet asking everyone to bring a potluck dish, cookies or paper plates. Then you will only have to buy the remaining items.

2. Call your local supermarket that has an in-store bakery and order a sheet cake. They usually only require 24 hours notice to make it. A sheet cake will usually serve 20-2 inch slices.

3. Check prices on veggie trays, you may be able to make one cheaper than the cost of buying one. Make a list of items you already have on hand and what you need. A homemade veggie tray can be made with a bunch of celery, a bag of baby carrots, a couple cans of black olives, some cheese cubes and a bowl of ranch dip in the center.

4. Visit your local Dollar Store for paper goods like paper plates and cups, plastic utensils, bottles of soda, cheap bags of chips, jars of pickles, boxes of saltine crackers, and bags of assorted candy.

5. Party decorations can be balloons, paper streamers, and inexpensive votive candles, decorative jars filled with glass beads or pine cones. Garland wreaths and a large glass bowl for punch make a nice centerpiece for the table.

6. An inexpensive party punch can be made with cans of Hawaiian Punch mixed with 7-UP or Sprite.

Mix it half and half. Make a pot of coffee and keep in a thermos to stay warm. Put out small containers of non-dairy creamer and sugar with a couple of spoons.
