(Sometimes Power May Be Overrated.)

Linda Ann Nickerson
Most men pursue pleasure
with such breathless haste
that they hurry past it.
Soren Kierkegaard
Danish philosopher
(1813 - 1855)

"He who sows hurry reaps indigestion."
Robert Louis Stevenson
Scottish author
(1850 -1894)

In the woods, with power down,
Checking voice mails while in town -
No T-V or internet:
How quiet can a weekend get?

Shoreline beckoning us forth
To beachcombing, south and north.
Lake waves splashing, as they pound,
Dawn to dusk, the only sound.

Moon moves up to shine below,
Sunburned backs the only glow.
Bonfire stretching for the sky -
What a time to simplify!

Coming home to still-full queue:
Did someone else lose power too?

Good one. This is weird that you wrote this becuase I was thinking about trying to write an artical of sort of a list of things you could do without electricity.

I'd take that shoreline, with a laptop, anyday. These are great. I'll be catching up soon.

Great quotes, Linda! Fabulous photo - reminds me of the poem "Footsteps", where God has carried the troubled soul. The quote "He who sows worry..." is so true! Ho wmany times I've jumped ahead of God's will and been in physical distress afterward!
