The Ogilvie Hair Straightener kit came with one pair of latex gloves, one comb, a bottle of straightener lotion, a bottle of neutralizer and one bottle of leave in conditioner. An instruction sheet was also provided with clear and detailed instructions and time limits for use.
The entire process of using the Ogilvie Hair Straightener is less than an hour. Although two people is suggested for easier execution, I personally did it myself with no help. Well, except for having my husband put Vaseline on my back and shoulders. Just as the box promised, the first bottle was a no-drip cream formula. It was suggested to divide the hair into four sections and apply. However, I did the best I could and applied the cream as evenly as possible throughout my hair. After the cream was applied, I had to continually comb my hair straight as possible. At rinse time, the lotion came out reasonably easy.
When I added the neutralizer, I noticed it was not as non-drip as the previous bottle. It took a little more caution on my part to prevent a mishap, but I didn't realize this until I had already sprayed the side of my bathroom wall with it. Still, the rest of the process went okay even with only one person doing it. The hardest part was trying to keep a towel over my shoulders while I kept combing my hair straight.
After I rinsed out the neutralizer, I towel dried my hair and used the leave in hair conditioner. While the bottle was tiny, the results were not. I used the entire bottle, but then had to grab a towel to clean up the liquid mess running from my head. Maybe it isn't necessary to use the entire bottle?
I am definitely happy with the outcome of using Ogilvie Hair Straightener. My hair has never been this smooth and manageable. For instance, usually I wake up in the morning and have to fight to get a comb to go through my hair. Now, I simply pick up the comb and pull it through with no trouble. Sometimes, I used to just stick my hair in a ponytail cause no one could tell the difference if I combed it first or not. It took so long to actually work at fixing my hair every morning. Now, it takes less than two minutes and I am fixing it!
When I first showed my internet friends that I used a chemical straightener, they was amazed. They had never considered that and had always used straightening rods and gels. When we compared the amount of time it took for me to do my single process and the amount of time for them to do theirs every morning, it was clear who had made the wiser choice.

Post a CommentI hate this product!!!! I followed all the instructions. first, it was pretty great, my hair was flat and straight. Then the next day my hair started falling out in clumps. Now I'm still trying to stop my hair from falling.
I used this product about a month ago. It has made such a difference in my hair. It's much quicker to prep in the morning and looks a lot better. It's flatter, straighter, easier to manage.
The box says to only use the product every 3 months, but my hair stylist said I could do it more often if needed because I have short hair. We'll see how long the results last. $10 USD, well spent.
thank u so much i got the ogilvie and that is such a relife to hear!!!!!!!!!!
JUSTED USED IT!!!
LOOKS REALLLLLY GOOD. AND MY HAIR IS WOW, AND IT WORKED!
Thank you for your review. It would also be helpful to know what kind of hair you had, besides it being unruly. Like, was it very curly, coarse, thin, etc. And, a little more detail on the results. Was your hair stick straight, wavy, and was it even? If you could add to your story, that would be great!
Now you know all of the women are going to love this. Great article and awesome research!!! Thanks for sharing
YOUR STORY SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE MINE!!! i wear a pony every day and rarely brush my hair b/c if my hair isnt brushed it just looks wavy if it is brushed it looks like a ball of frizziness. i just finished my treatment and i hope it goes well. im excited to wake up tomorrow morning!
