Oh CHRISTMAS TREE

Where is the Love and Treasures of the Holiday Season

Every year we rush to make those sells that start the day after Thanksgiving. I see people fighting over gifts when they realize that someone has taken the last one. The people in the store are acting like children in candy store. They seem to be pushing there way through the crowds. The results of this makes you want to stay home and miss out on all of the good things that are on sale.

Christmas was once a great day to celebrate and still should be. A long time ago it didn't matter if you were rich or less fortunate, everyone got a gift and it was a gift from the heart. Most people then made their own gifts to give out. Now, it seems to be a madness of who gets the better gift and how much is spent on each person.

Have we really become that selfish? Does it really matter what gift you got or how much it cost? It shouldn't. What happened to the true meaning of Christmas when we would all gather with our family and friends to celebrate this joyous day?

Christmas is beginning to be more of a marketing tool for store owners. There is more money spent and more debt created during the holiday season then any other time during the year. There is more drama created than what it is really worth.

What would happen to someone if they didn't receive any gifts this year but instead just celebrated Christmas with just the turkey and pies with their family? Would they still be happy? Think about how much money you would save by not having to by everyone on your list a gift.

I could imagine that when Christmas was created, the people had never envisioned this happening. They probably never imagined that people would become so greedy and cruel during this special time.

Christmas should be about laughter, family, friends, maybe even the birth of Christ and not about money. I become to dislike the holiday rush and everything that it brings. Ya, it may be fun to open the gifts, but after all that has happened up to this day, is it really worth it?

I enjoy watching my children open the gifts that where once placed under the Christmas tree but what I don't enjoy was the person who pushed me down at the mall or the rudeness that people had just.
