Oh Yes Bibi You'll Get Your Wish

Stephen C. Rose
Oh yes Bibi you'll get your wish

We'll all line up behind you
And smack Iran

Hey
We'll repeat Iraq again
WMD in spades

Hey Bibi did you ever

Read about the ancient prophet
Named Micaiah

Wouldn't advise it Bibi

But since you didn't ask

I will remind you
Miciah told the king

Just what I'm saying now

Go up and conquer
Bibi

Every bad deed deserves
A repetition

Isn't that so

Does the idea of spiritual progress

Ever occur to you

Bibi
The cause of states
Breed the causes of state

The string that knots forever

Squeezes out
A child's learning

Consigns religion to
The role of compliant
Priests and scribes

Turns critics into dancing minions
Of the states

Or dancing minions who would rule the state

We'll try to tone this down
A little Bibi

Say Iran's at fault
You know the drill

But please recall

That first war we call world

Do you remember the name of the Archduke

Or why he was shot

Or what posturing preceded
That brief death

The same show Bibi

Micaiah and Jesus knew a thing or two

Do you think you know it all

States are irredeemable

Only in those with ears to hear

Is spiritual progress made

Oh Bibi are you chortling

Or are you shaking

Do you dream of peace

Or hear sad marching in your nightmares

What of Washington

I mean the city

The man who lives there

I feel initiatives a'brewin'

I feel catastrophe a'strain' at the bit

Here at the epicenter I type away

Look down where Walt once walked

Methinks he would now shed a tear
For what we might become

If we have not already
Become it
And are already blind

Great job, Stephen. Though Jesus was quick to set straight the religious establishment, he never once attacked the govern authorities. Of slavery, he spoke not; taxes he paid; and when beaten and cursed, he reviled not again. Indeed, we are command to submit to all authority, the good and the bad. We are so greedy, so self-centered, and so filled with hate. May our hearts turn to love and leave behind the war.
