Ohio is alive with low-cost and free festivals during the month of June. These family friendly multiple day attractions focus on family oriented entertainment and activities. Throughout the state of Ohio, visitors and residents alike can find something interesting to do during a warm summer day, without making a big dent in the wallet.

Gene Autry days are held annually at the Hardin County Fairgrounds in Kenton, Ohio. During the final weekend of June the Ohio State Championship Fast Draw contest is held as one of the festival highlights. This Ohio festival honors both the popular singing cowboy and Kenton Hardware manufactured toy cap guns. Country music and "old west" style cuisine round out the offerings of the Gene Autry Days Festival. An admission charge of $5 per adult is charged at the festival gate. The Heini Cheese Festival is held annually during the month of June in Berlin, Ohio. This two day festival highlights the wonders of various cheese creations. Musical stage shows featuring regional jazz, polka, blues, country, gospel, and classic 1950's performers entertain the crowd throughout the festival. The Coshocton County Hot Air Balloon Festival is held the first weekend of June each year. This three day even is held at the county fairground complex. Balloonists from around the country share their skills and entertain the crowd during the various balloon shows and flights during this June festival. A special night launch is the highlight of this annual festival. The North American Balloon Association sanctioned race is held during this Coshocton festival. A Pork Rind Heritage Festival is held during the second weekend of June in Harrod, Ohio. This family friendly festival focuses on products made by the Rudolph Food Company. The Strawberry Festival is held the first full weekend in June at Troy, Ohio. This free festival features numerous strawberry related foods and desserts.
