In a interview with a local Ohio television station, Jordan Miller stated that he chose Akron because it was close to his home. He also said he was glad to have made his college selection early so that he can focus his energies on the New Philadelphia football team during his senior year of high school.
Earlier in his Junior year, Jordan Miller was contacted by Iowa, Michigan, Boston College and Kansas. He was not initially offered any scholarships by these schools.
