Ohio High School Football Receiver Briggs Orsbon

Briggs Orsbon is heading into his senior year at Crestview High School in Convoy, Ohio, as a receiver and a prospect in the 2008 football recruiting class. He stands six-feet tall, weighing 178 points, and runs the forty in 4.4 seconds. He carries a 3.9 grade-point average. As a junior at Crestview, he had 1,300 receiving yards, was named All-Area Player of the Year, a member of the All-Area Defense team, All-Area Special Teams Player, and All-Area First Team Offense. He also broke the rushing record for a single season at his high school. For his 2006 season, Orsbon was given most valuable player honors. He attended the Nike football camp at Penn State in May.

He is listed on Rival.com's top wide receivers in the nation at number 85, and on its list of Ohio prospects, Orsbon ranks number 34.

Briggs Orsbon is also a basketball and baseball player at Crestview. An outfielder, he was named one of the Northwest Conference Players of the Year and made the first team All-Conference. He had a .485, 26 RBIs, and four home runs.

Orsbon has received offers for college ball from Toledo, Bowling Green, Akron, Ball State, and Air Force. He has shown interest in Purdue, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, and Ohio.

2006-2007 Season
In the first game of the season, Orsbon had one return for 55 yards and 255 all-purpose yards. Playing against Lima Central Catholic, the Crestview Knights lost 35-21, but Orsbon scored on a 13-yard run. In the game against Wayne Trace, he scored three times, including a 96-yards run. He also caught two passes - 46 and 20 yards. The Knights won 21-6. Crestview lost their next game to Bluffton, 28-14, although the wide receiver Orsbon opened the game with a 62-yard run to score. Playing Allen East the next week, Orsbon was sent in as quarterback, scoring one touchdown and going 113 yards for 7 of 13. Crestview fell to their opponent, 21-13. In the game against Grove, he scored three touchdowns, had just one interception, and completed 20 of 24 going 205 yards. The Knights lost, 41-32. In Crestview's game against Paulding, which the Knights lost 18-6, he scored a touchdown after going 21 yards.

Stats
In 2006, his totals included competing 44 of 94 passes for 665 yards and six touchdowns, 2,082 all-purpose yards, 10 rushing touchdowns, 1,288 rushing yards, 59 defensive tackles, and a total of 92 points scored.
