Ohio's Race for Our Representatives to Congress Should Be Very Exciting in 2010

NEWBURY, Ohio - The November 2010 Election race for Representatives to Congress from Ohio is going to be a real barn burner based on the long list of colorful candidates! In our home area of district fourteen we only have three people running for the one seat while some other districts have as many as five candidates.

This is a very interesting statistic since much of what these elected officials work on will directly affect many of us right here at home in Ohio. With so many jobs leaving Ohio over the past few years, plus major economic issues facing the State, we are at a critical time in our history.

Having been laid off and personally struggling to find work at a similar level to where I was before the economy crashed to it's knees, it is clear to me how the existing congressmen and other state legislators have dropped the ball when it comes to creating and maintaining jobs here in Ohio. You have to see how things impact your citizens before you blindly allow overseas competition take over critical business which can ultimately collapse your local economies.

There are currently sixty four candidates from across Ohio who will be running for the 18 seats as our state representatives in the House of Representatives. Each of these candidates has an interesting background in politics and in business. These varied backgrounds make these candidates uniquely qualified to understand the plight of many Ohioans at the most basic levels. It really is time for a change and that could begin with a clean sweep of the existing group of representatives.

Typically the incumbent will win in many cases, but this year there are a lot of unhappy residents who are clamoring for big changes to how this state and our country are run. Many Ohio voters will blame existing officials for recent failures and this may create a large list of upsets in terms of turnover in congress.

Here is a rundown the various candidates running for seats in congress according to the State of Ohio website , we have: a Teacher, Shop Supervisor, Factory Worker, Nurse, Auto Mechanic, Sales Representative, Retired Army, Navy, and Air Force, Street Preacher, Businessman, Tea Party Activist, Auto Dealer, Race Car Driver, Pharmacist, Restaurant Manager, Ex-Congressman, who is also a former Sheriff plus a Convicted Felon!, and finally we have a seres of professional politicians who are either already in congress or another middle to high level government position.

To me this list of potential Congressional members is more than colorful enough to represent this fine state on capital hill. For myself and countless others in Ohio who are unemployed or under-employed the changes we create by voting for the best candidates can make a difference over the next few years. Many workers who have been displaced by some of the decisions that our elected officials have made will be watching this election closely, and most of them will hopefully participate!
