Oil of Olay Advanced Cleaning System

Laura Leiva
There are two things I'm always striving to attain with my beauty routine: clean pores and smooth skin. While there are plenty of exfoliators and scrubs to choose from on the shelves, they don't usually give me the results I'm looking for. One product that's risen to the top of reviews is the Clarisonic Cleaning System, but with the $200 price tag it hasn't ever fit into my beauty budget.

Recently, Oil of Olay has targeted my demographic: women who can't afford the Clarisonic. The Advanced Cleaning System is very affordable (approx. $30) and can be found at pretty much any retail store, like Target. The kit comes with the cleaning brush, bristle attachment, batteries and a sample of the Professional Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser.

Here is how you should use the skin cleansing kit: Moisten your face and the brush with water to prep your skin for deep cleansing. Apply a small amount of the provided cleanser to the face and massage in. Next, use the rotating brush on your face for about a minute. Avoid the delicate eye area, but be sure to massage the skin around the oiliest - and dirtiest - parts of your face: the t-zone. Once you're finished, rinse the face entirely and pat dry. To add to the convenience, the brush is waterproof so you can use it in the shower.

After using the brush just a few times, I noticed that my skin looked and felt softer. Since it's winter, my skin is prone to dry areas and the Advanced Cleaning System smoothed those areas, particularly my forehead, out. The gentle vibration of the brush also massaged my skin as I was cleaning it, which added to the overall experience of pampering.

To keep skin and texture clean and smooth, it's suggested you use the cleaning system at least three times a week. Once you are done cleaning your face, you should moisturize it using your favorite cream or serum. I happen to love serum, and the one I'm trying now is Oil of Olay Regenerating Serum. It gives my skin a moisturized and healthy feeling without excess shine or oil.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable alternative to the Clarisonic system. With just a few uses I've already seen the benefits and look forward to cleaner, softer skin for good!
