Tim Marsh, an oil painter from the Ann Arbor area, is featuring his "Nature 2 Nature" collection through Saturday, Nov. 27, at Ferndale's Lawrence Street Gallery, 22620 Woodward Ave.

He explains what patrons will see: "This exhibit exemplifies nature in its boldest form and color while featuring my newest oil paintings on canvas. I share with you the bold, vivid tropical and exotic imagery as I see them. Each canvas is a porthole into a rarely seen world which can offer a hint of a story or maybe a touch of whimsy."

Marsh was the featured artist at this year's Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair.

"As a young boy my bliss was walking, talking and breathing nature," he says. "My artistic abilities naturally took hold of my favorite subject. The only subject. Nature!

"For the past 25 years I have arranged the beautiful elements that nature has to offer, creating my own visions to be enjoyed by me as well as others."

Lawrence Street Gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and from noon to 9 p.m. Fridays. The phone number is (248) 544-0394. Admission is free of charge.

I dabble in some realism oil painting every now and then. Very therapeutic.
