At this point I'm thinking what in the world could be "sexy or good" about CRISCO â ? I mean, I've heard some "sex-y" stories about the varied uses of CRISCO â that I'd prefer to leave out for now. Anyhow, the image of CRISCO â as far as I was concerned is of that white lard type shortening that was a staple of by-gone kitchens. Some of us remember fried chicken, fish and pie crust recipes that beckoned the use this culinary staple and have grown to think was not in any bit healthy. So what could have possibly changed with CRISCO â ?
Well Ladies and Gentlemen, brace yourself because in our health and trans-fat conscious society, "The CRISCO â family has branched out !" The brand has managed to re-invent itself with imported olives from the Mediterranean, transformed into a new line of olive oils. The beautifully packaged bottles come in Light, Pure and Extra Virgin oils which the company boasts as a "healthy alternative to butter as part of a healthy diet. "
Speaking of healthy, I was amazed to learn about Americas' love affair with olive oil. As I began to offer samples to interested consumers, I started to receive home remedies and testimonies about the "God-like" healing powers of this golden "oil of olive." My offering of features and benefits to customers slowly became my own 5-hour education session. Consumers did not complain about the cost at $5-$10 per 17-34 ounce bottle because its uses seemed to be almost spiritual in its various uses.
Excited about my new found knowledge, I started to write down all the non-cooking and cooking applications for Olive Oil I had learned. And so, I offer you some of my favorites.
Top Ten Consumer Uses For Olive Oil:
Hot Oil Treatment for The HairSkin Moisturizer/Bath Oil

Who would have thought CRISCO Olive Oils could have invoked such dialogue and learning. I guess they knew what they were doing when they chose a tagline like "Start Something Good." " Imported Olive Oil From A Familiar Face."
CRISCO â is a registered trademark of the JM Smucker Company, which has been based in Orville, Ohio for 108 years.

Post a CommentI've not seen this in my stores yet, but I think I'll have to give Crisco a try. A lot of the food we eat is cooked in Olive oil.
Never cared for olive oil, though I do love olives and miss Crisco baking days. I have tried some of the lighter new types of olive oil, but always go back to vegatable oils. Fun article.
I do love olive oil!
Wow...I didn't even know Crisco made olive oils, but I love olive oil, so I guess I'll have to give them a try...
