Looking greasy and prone to acne, Oily Skin is characterized by a shiny complexion with large pores pimples and blackheads. Oily Skin is caused by over-active glands, which produce a substance called Asebum. Most people inherit their Oily Skin from their mom or dad. Fried foods, hormonal imbalance, poor hygiene are some of the factors that lead to Oily Skin apart from hereditary. Oily skin is usually seen in teenagers and it vanishes with age. It is rare to have Oily Skin in old age as the skin tends to become dry with age.

If you feel that you have much grease in your face, it is better you wash your face twice or thrice a day. Use hot water as it dissolves oil better than cold and Luke warm water. Use soft soaps with no artificial additions. While cleansing skin, use oil-based products only and it is better to avoid heavy cleansing creams and lotions. After washing, it good that you use some oil free moisturiser. Always choose cosmetic and facial products designed for Oily Skin.

You can also go for some clay or mud packs that could bring back the charm of your skin. Instead of fatty meals, eat a well-balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables. It is good to take plenty of fresh water rather than the soft drinks which can give an extra glow.

Apart from the lotions and creams that are available in the market, there are also a lot of natural ways for keeping away the Oily Skin. A mix of lime and cucumber, Aloe Vera, Burdock root, Chamomile, Oat straw, thyme, lavender, lemon grass and rose buds are good for Oily Skin.

There are also various drugs available in the market for Oily Skins. Better consult the dermatologist before you go for any drug.
