O.J. Finally Gets His Due

O.J. Simpson Found Guilty on All Charges in Las Vegas Case

No one in this country and other parts of the world can forget the gruesome murders at the home of the famous football player O.J. Simpson, Nicole Simpson, his wife and Ron Goldman, a friend. We sat and watched the police and media swarm his house and follow him on the freeway in the infamous, white Bronco. We saw him try on the glove, and we saw the blood everywhere. We sat through the trial hanging on to all the details. 133 days of testimony and horrific pictures and on and on.

We watched his defense attorneys twist and turn everything said to their advantage. He changed lawyers in the middle of the trial to his benefit. He won.

I would venture to say that America tried and convicted O.J. Simpson in that trial. While those that had to sit on the jury were forced to deal with technicalities. They couldn't ignore the total crap the defense was getting away with. We knew then he was guilty. No doubt at all. It was the "hot" water cooler and break room conversation for that entire 133 days and beyond.

He even gave us a description of how he would have done it a now famous book, "If I Did It". This was a blatant punch in the face for the families of his victims. The Goldman family finally won in court to get the proceeds from the sale. They have managed to get some money from him but they should have gotten more.

O.J. has not suffered one day for his bad deeds. He took the love of the American Public who watched him drink orange juice and play football for years and actually got away with murder for 13 years. He has continued to look us in the face and say, I got away with it.

He has played golf, got a healthy, rich, allowance and lived good all of this time. He thought that he could do another bad deed and walk away. He didn't learn his lesson the first time. He chose to break the law again.

According to Associated Press, now, a jury has found him guilty of all charges in the robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas, one year ago. Exactly one year ago on Friday since O.J. was found not guilty in the murder trials, he is found guilty of this crazy crime.

The story is, he went to the hotel of a memorabilia dealer to get back some stuff he says was stolen from him. He went in with some friends and robbed this guy and his friend. He tried to explain it away and say it was his stuff and other excuses for his bad behavior. I guess the jury didn't buy that story for him or his friend. His friend, Clarence "C.J." Stewart, who was also involved in the robberies, was convicted as well. Though the jury was sworn in as non biased, fate seemed to intervene in the judgment call here.

According to the AP, O.J. was melancholy in the courtroom upon hearing the verdict. It was said he knew already that the verdict would not go his way on this one. His sister cried and collapsed. He reportedly looked very tired. He was very compliant and appeared to be a bit teary eyed.

Both men were taken into custody and will be sentenced on December 5. O.J. is facing 15 years to life in all cases. Anticipation is that it will be appealed, although the Judge in the case, Judge Glass, is being tough on the rules. No extensions to file and no breaks on the appeal conditions.

O.J. appears to realize that this is a fight he cannot win. I agree. I only feel bad for his kids. I am sure that he still has enough money to get them to adulthood. I have to say that what comes around goes around, no matter who you are. Payback has no status in the real world.

O.J. got away with murder and was so sure he was untouchable that he looked justice in the face and spit on her again. I can only speculate as to the actual sentence that O.J. Simpson will get on this case. I would hope that he would be treated as though he never had a famous name and for his continued disregard for the law. If he gets life, it will not bring back Nicole Simpson or Ron Goldman. Even though he wasn't being tried for that crime now, it is time for some justice for this man and a small amount of solace for those two families.

We will have to stay tuned to December 5 and see how it ends.

Yea Connie, I would venture to say there are many bad characters who have gotten away with murder. I have a sister in law that took over $300,000 dollars from her mother. Let her mother die badly. Stolen everything from everybody she can get. Yet it seems she is getting away with it. That is only our perception in our lives. What comes around goes around, no matter who you are. The Bible says, Whatsoever you shall sow is only what you will reap. Sometimes, we don't always get to see the reaping part, but it comes, always. OJ was raised in a Christian home. I would be willing to bet he is hearing somebody in his life say that to him now.

Rose....did it ever seem, to you, that this is sort of the way it went with Al Capone? They couldn't get him on the heinous crimes he perpetrated, which definitely included murder(s), but they put him away for tax evasion. O.J. really blew his "good luck." Now he won't be able to keep looking for "the real murderer" on the golf links.

I'm squarely with Candus on this one - Forgiveness is a good thing - but it, too, has limits and OJ has gone beyond them!
