OJ Simpson Sentenced to 15 Years

Simpson Gets Book Thrown at Him this Morning in the Courtroom of Honorable Jackie Glass

Ann-Marie Goldstein
Las Vegas -- OJ Simpson's eyes revealed all as the Honorable Jackie Glass read her summary and then the verdict at 10 a.m. Las Vegas time. The Judge was succinct and spoke in an honest manner as she gave her decision. Simpson was sentenced to 15 years.

To her surprise and maybe to many, OJ himself gave a statement. He said he was sorry for what had happened, that to him he was merely retrieving his stuff, and that basically some machismo came into play but he meant no harm. He almost cried and indeed you could tell as you watched the proceedings which this writer did firsthand that he was sorry that it had come to this.

Some statements were made by Mr. Stewart's legal team. Mr. Stewart was indicted as Mr. Simpson's co-conspirator in this case that originated September 13th, 2007.

The Honorable Judge Jackie Glass made her statements and she detailed her reasons. She made some very valid points. This is Las Vegas Nevada and this incident occurred in a well known, well visited casino. She said a gun was drawn. She stated that very rarely is there ever a case presented before her where all the evidence is on tape for her and the jury to see and listen to.

She brought up OJ's legal past and the case against him for the murder of his ex-wife and Ron Goldman. Ron Goldman's father and sister were in the courtroom - the sister cried as the sentencing was handed down.

She brought up all the reasons why OJ did what he did. This writer watched the very first day of this trial when she stated thet she did not know whether OJ was guilty of being arrogant or ignorant. She said now she knew that he was both.

OJ Simpson and Mr. Stewart were sentenced to 15 years each eligible for parole after 6 years... and with other smaller sentences on the different counts as well. All sentences are to run concurrently with each other.

As OJ listened to his fate, in his eyes was anger. But also in his eyes was resignation beneath the anger. This game did not go his way. The other team scored a touchdown this time.
