What is the Outcome of the OJ Simpson Case?

O.J. Simpson, who was convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping in Las Vegas, Nevada, was sentenced to at least 9 years in prison today. Simpson, who was one of the most prolific NFL and college players of all time, will spend time behind bars reflecting on the severe mistakes he has made.

After pleading the judge for leniency, he was quickly shot down and was given the severe sentence. It did not seem like his arguments, though sincere, really meant much of anything to anyone.

Simpson murdered his former girlfriend, Nicole Brown, along with her friend, Ronald Goldman. Goldman's father and sister were at the court, and exclaimed their "satisfaction that [Simpson] was where he belonged." They labeled Simpson a "monster," and it is easy to understand Goldman's viewpoint: he lost his son.

This is truly a shame for Simpson, but he certainly got what he deserved. The sentence he was handed seems fair for the crimes that he committed. All in all, there should be constant updates on ESPN and other news networks today, so stay tuned to those networks for the latest on this big case.
