OKCupid.Com Review: In and Out

Greg Reedy
Online dating is becoming more and more common among those that are in their early 20s. With the influx of technology, it's a great way for today's generation to perhaps meet that special someone if done properly. There are many different avenues that can be used to this and one of them is the site OKCupid.com.

The first thing when anyone will look at the site is the price. It's absolutely free. That does make it more inviting and enticing for someone to give it a try. While some might think that the free price will mean that this site is not worth it, that would have to be wrong on this case. Among the free sites, this is clearly the best among those who are looking for a quality match and a quality person.

The registration for this site is easy and quick. It takes less than five minutes to join and the questions are not hard at all. Once you are registered, you can upload up to 10 pictures of yourself. The site recommends that they are single pictures of yourself and not group shots, although group shots do tend to sneak in from time to time. After you sign in, it's time to fill out your profile so you can get better matches. In the profile, you will get asked what you are looking for on the site, whether it be friends, pen pals, a relationship or even activity partners. Standard questions also apply here including, height, gender, likes and dislikes.

There are essay-like questions to fill out which help out with your matches. To get better matches, it's a good idea to be as descriptive as possible. It doesn't mean you have to write a 1,000-word essay on the subject, it just means you have to give enough details to make someone interested in perhaps communicating with you.

Communicating is free and you can either message someone you are interested in or you can send a "wink" at them which is another short way of showing interest. You can also search through your potential matches by location, age and various other options.

Matches are done by percentage. The higher the percentage, the higher the chances of a great and compatible match. You are matched in the following categories, match, friend and enemy. It helps to get rid of those which are clearly not going to be a compatible match.

If you live in or around cities, OKCupid is a great way to meet friends and maybe even more. Cities have quite an array of potential matches out there so there should be no trouble finding friends and dates. There are also fun tests you can take and other options as well.

If you are frustrated with the dating scene around your area, OKCupid is worth a try. You can at least know you won't be throwing any money away with it.
