Oktoberfest Celebrations in Philadelphia-German Society of Pennsylvania
German Society of Pennsylvania is a great place to celebrate Oktoberfest this year. Their celebration will be on September 18Th, 2010 from 2:00 PM until dusk. It will be held in their traditional hall. This is probably the closest you will get to a traditional celebration, although not a week long of course. They will be celebrating with the taste of traditional German beer. Of course, what Oktoberfest is complete without German favorites on the menu such as German wursts, potato salad, sauerkraut and Spanferkel*. Enjoy your food and beer with traditional folk songs playing in the background. Cost is $20.00 in advance by calling the number below, or $25.00 at the door. The cost for children twelve years and younger is $10.00 in advance and $12.00 at the door.

Post a CommentThis sounds like fun. I love Oktoberfest and Pennsylvania appears to be full of them. Closer to home for me is the Bavarian Oktoberfest in Canonsburg, PA.
What great times in the fall for Philly. Love it Jennifer.
How fun
Page Love and loving (((hugs)))... :o)
Cools!
Nice local piece.
I was living in Bavaria in 1976, and that year I went with a group of friends to the Oktoberfest in Munich. I had a cold coming on when I went, but a couple of liters of good beer, spread out over the day, killed any nasty germs in my system, and I was cured!
Sounds like lots of fun!
