This festival literally, has something for everyone. From the antique shows to the various arts and crafts, there are no disappointments in store. Setting off the Oktoberfest celebration and events is the first keg tapping ceremony that festival goers look forward to every year. This time old tradition kicks off the festivities every single year. There are various types of beer and ales to pick and choose from. This doesn't even begin to include the local pubs and bars in this local region.
Main Strasse Village is home to several shops, restaurants, and other local activities during this time. As a matter of fact, there are over thirteen restaurants offering multiple heritage rich cuisines. During Oktoberfest, many of these businesses will extend their hours and offer contests, prizes, and many other activities.
The live entertainment is provided by many different bands, some local and from abroad. Concerts and shows will range from rock, country, and German folk. There is even a German folk dancing contest. This doesn't include dance performances from professional groups. This is why Covington's Oktoberfest is so widely recognized, they truly go all out for this event. MainStrasse Village is truly a historic German neighborhood, giving the celebration an even more authentic feel.
Parking is convenient and safe, located on the 5th Street visitor lots. If parking becomes limited, there are several public transits and shuttles that transport visitors to this event. Other benefits of this Oktoberfest event is that there is no charge to attend. All shows and entertainment cost absolutely nothing. However, you will still want to bring some spare change. With all the shops, vendors, and great food to choose from you may need it.
If you are looking for good fun, delectable food, live entertainment, and beer, Covington is the place to be this September. This Oktoberfest is like no other that you have attended. Unless of course, you plan on going to Germany.
