Ol' Roy Dog Food Review

Chen Salis
Owning a pet in these grim economic times can be very stressful. Many people have no idea where their next meal is coming from, and their pets are not exempt from this common worry. Thanks to Wal-Mart and the Ol' Roy line of dog food, I am worrying less about how to feed my dogs.

Ol' Roy is available in every Wal-Mart store. There are numerous flavors and sizes of bags. There is something to satisfy every budget and taste. My dogs used to exclusively eat Nutro Max dog food, but I can no longer afford such steep prices, it is time to economize in every sense at my house. I have purchased several varieties of Ol' Roy dog food, and have been pleased to see my dogs enjoy it all!

Among the varieties we have purchased, my dogs have happily eaten all of them. The first one I bought was Ol' Roy complete. This is the standard no frills dog food made by this company. It is really inexpensive and it is nutritionally complete. My dogs didn't hesitate to eat this brand, they do not care if it is the cheapest of all Ol' Roy dog foods! I noticed no side effects from feeding this dog food. Assuming your dog has no special diet and is healthy and routinely visits the veterinarian, you should not feel bad about buying this basic dog food.

We could not resist trying out Ol' Roy dinner rounds when we first saw them in the store. My dogs literally went nuts over Ol' Roy dinner rounds. This food looks like a dog treat. It is chewy and moist, and appears to be like a little steak treat. My dogs emptied their dishes and literally begged for more! They thought they were getting fed bowls of dog treats! I paid around $8 for a 15 pound bag of ol' Roy dinner rounds. I honestly would not purchase this food again, because my dogs tended to over eat when fed this brand of dog food. I am not kidding when I saw I caught one of the dogs with his head in the bag, chowing down!

Finally Ol' Roy krunchy bones n bits is the favorite in my house of all of the Ol' Roy brand dog food products offered by Wal-Mart. The assorted pieces of food offer them enough variety to keep them from getting bored with their dog food, and I can get a 40 pound bag of this dog food for under $15. I will continue to purchase Ol' Roy dog foods, and I would also recommend it to other pet owners. In these grim economic times it makes sense to buy Ol' Roy products. Your dog will enjoy the food while you enjoy the savings!
