Olay's Moisture Balancing Foaming Face Wash with Vitamin E Review

Angela Tague
In preparation for my upcoming fall wedding, I am exploring skin care products and make-up options. The first new skin care product I tested is Olay's Moisture Balancing Foaming Face Wash with Vitamin E. I purchased it from Wal-Mart's online store with a gift card and had it shipped to my home. The online offer boasted a two-pack of 7 ounce tubes for under $10, with shipping for less than $1.

Since another harsh Iowa winter is behind me, it is time to find a face wash that not only leaves my skin soft and smooth, but also hydrated after battling the winter winds. And, like any woman, it's nice if a skin care product also makes me look a tiny bit younger by reducing fine lines and dry patches of skin.

After using the Olay Moisture Balancing Foaming Face Wash with Vitamin E each day for one week, here are the results.

Texture
I have used the Olay product both in the shower and at the sink before bedtime. After wetting my face with warm water, I put a dime-sized squirt of the creamy soap in my hands. I worked it into a later before applying to my face and neck, as the instructions dictate. I used a circular motion to rub the wash onto my face. It has a very silky, smooth feel. The suds are light and not overly fluffy. Unlike some facial scrubs, Olay Moisture Balancing Foaming Face Wash with Vitamin E doesn't contain any gritty pieces to help exfoliate the skin.

Fragrance
The face wash has a fresh, clean fragrance. It reminds me of the classic Dove bar soap smell. It isn't fruity, or floral. The classic soapy smell makes this product perfect for both men and women. The scent of the soap lingers for maybe a half hour after washing, but then quickly fades or is easily masked by perfume. (Note: The Olay product package claims the face wash is 100 percent soap free.)

Vitamin E
After a week of use, the face wash has smoothed my skin, leaving it soft and clearer in appearance. Fine lines near the corners of my eyes have been minimized. In the past I have used face creams with vitamin E and noticed the line-reducing qualities. The Olay Moisture Balancing Foaming Face Wash with Vitamin E seems to have a similar effect. The Olay package claims the products is dermatologist tested, oil-free and pH-balanced.

Results
After washing with the Olay product, and drying my face and neck, my skin has a taught, clean feel. The product is labeled for all skin types and has successfully reduced any unevenness on my skin. Sometimes my forehead is more oily, while my cheeks get dry. To the touch, my skin is soft and smooth. After one week, Olay Moisture Balancing Foaming Face Wash with Vitamin E has successfully cleansed my skin without over-drying, as the product package claims.
