For those seeking a classy venue with fine Italian dining, friendly (and often quite beautiful) female hosts, and more tasty drinks than you could possibly shake a stick at...do not hesitate to check out Old Chicago in East Mesa off of Power Rd. and Superstition Springs Blvd (near to the Movie Theater). If you enjoy fine wines, foods, beers, and great prices...you surely won't regret it.

When I first walked through the door, I was amazed at the sheer size of their alcohol selection. You'll have to go there to see what I mean! They have a few of my favorite drinks of all-time. One of my favorites is called The Woodchuck (or as they affectionately like to call it, beer cider) which I would best describe as a mildly alcoholic cross between crisp apple cider and a hint of ginger-ale. It's probably neither of those two things, but to me it tastes so good! Every time I stop in there, I can't help but order one...or three!

Another great drink they have there is the Old Chicago Iced Tea. This is a variation of the well-known Long Island Iced Tea that most bars serve, however the Old Chicago version is much more tasty and different in a good way: It is smoother, has a richer taste than it does a bite, and the flavor is sweet like nectar. If you want something between a sweet tea and a strong drink, this is a great choice and one of my favorites there. Another ideal flavor they make very well is called the Sunset Beach, which I invite you to try if you like drinks that taste as good as they look!

Old Chicago also has an unusual thing called the Beer Tour! If you can drink a certain variety of their beers all the way through, then you win awards, prizes, and other neat things! What a concept!

They have a friendly karaoke crowd that gathers frequently every Saturday night, starting at 9:30pm and continuing on until 1:30am. Currently hosted by Laurie of WannaSing, you'll find the show to be relaxed yet fun thanks to Laurie's kind personality, greast sense of humor, and genuine persona. She has a pretty good selection of music to choose from, and of course if there's anything that isn't yet available you can always request from her company at wannasing.com what you would like to hear and have at your local venue.

Although they do not have a pool table, they do have a few video game machines and an absolutely huge outside patio where people can enjoy the breeze outside, have a cigarette, or talk freely amongst themselves without being interrupted by anyone else.

Mmm...now lets get back to that food talk, shall we? There are a quite a few other things that I like to order there. The chicken-strips and the pizza specials at the start of happy hour on saturday nights just can't be beat for their price and the taste they deliver. The wings are pretty darn good, too.

The sandwiches and some of the dinner dishes are a little more expensive than other places, but trust me - they are definitely worth it! They put a great deal of time and effort into quality dishes and food prepared just right. In the last two years there has never been a time that I didn't enjoy ordering a delicious meal from their fantastic menu selection.

If you are into pizza, you will definitely want to check out some of their speciality pizzas on their menu. It puts a lot of pizza places to shame quite literally!

As far as the service goes, you'll find prompt, friendly, and cheerful girls out on the floor to serve you wherever you are in the restaurant. At the bar, you'll find one of a few different bar tenders who do a spectacular job, such as Craig - who always remembered my name, what I liked most and what I decided not to try again. He would also go out of his way to ensure that I got the best possible deal on combinations of dinners, drinks, and other specials that they had running. The staff of Old Chicago definitely has the best interests at heart for their customers, and go to great ends to ensure complete customer satisfaction from beginning to end.

Overall, this establishment is very clean, very neat, up-beat, and usually people who are classy but friendly go here. If you're looking for stuck-up people, you won't find much of that stuff here. What you will find are plenty of great dinner dishes, absolutely delicious drinks, a laid-back karaoke crowd, and extremely friendly folks that make it a worthwhile place to come back to again and again.

And by the way, they happen to have some of the cleanest restrooms when compared to a lot of other places in the valley, too.

In closing, even the managers at this place are friendly and generous people. The lead manager in charge of this establishment is Paul, who is often cheerful and more than happy to talk with you about any questions or comments that you have. I've enjoyed some good conversations with Paul on a few different occasions, and I can honestly say that when you have good people in charge at the top, the people who work for them are content and pass that good-natured expression onto the customer and through the services that they offer to you.

No matter where you are from, you can always feel welcome and get quality service with great food and beverage selections at Old Chicago in Mesa, Arizona.
