Old Fashioned Luncheon Meats by FMV: Review

If you have read any of my other reviews you will know I am always in search of a good deal, and more often than not I end up purchasing the generic or store brand product over a national brand. While at my local Kroger's I needed to purchase lunch meats for my families lunches. I was in shock when I looked at the assortment of meats and prices. I stood there at the luncheon meat display feeling defeated and not looking forward to spending half of my grocery budget on lunch meat when the For Maximum Value brand of old fashioned loaf caught my eye.

In this review I will share my thoughts and experience with this store brand product to help other shoppers make an informed buying decision and save some of their hard earned cash the next time they are shopping for luncheon meats.

For around $1.25 I purchased a one pound package of old fashioned loaf made by the Kroger company under the label For Maximum Value. In each package you get around 12 slices of lunch meat. The slices are thick, and for smaller appetites one slice of old fashioned lunch meat makes a great sandwich.

This For Maximum Value product is made with chicken, pork and beef and is fully cooked and ready to eat. It is pretty good, but it is slightly greasy to be honest. In my opinion, the price is great, and for such a low price it is a pretty great quality of luncheon meat. The greasy quality does not really bother my family, because we like to heat our old fashioned loaf up and it is easy to blot the excess greases off of the lunch meat which greatly improves its flavor.

I will continue to purchase For Maximum value old fashioned lunch meat. It is a pretty great product at a very affordable price. Instead of spending five dollars on a pound of luncheon meat, now I can get 4 pounds of For Maximum Value lunch meat for the same price. When stretching the almighty dollar, this product is ideal. I would also recommend For Maximum Value old fashioned lunch meat to other consumers who like old fashioned loaf and are on a tight budget. The Kroger company offers several different style lunch meats for all tastes and budgets. This is a good product, but it is slightly greasy.

Hi fellow lunch meat loaf lover. I grew up eating this luncheon meat. I was just laughing and talking with friends regarding the subject and we are all at lost of where to find this great lunch meat. We live in California. Do you have any idea what store carries this anymore.

    Thanks Michelle
