Old Friend

Sam Snyder
My old friend, gallant and greyMy old friend, what should I say?
You were always there, you always cared.
Oh, My old friend, where are you now?
Somewhere deep in the ground,
in the starry sky, somewhere way up high?
Where are you now my old friend?
In my dreams, my memories, in my heart and soul?
I weep for you, I cry I scream!
My old friend what should I say?
I loved you, I cherished you so much!
My Old friend the time has come...I can't say it, I won't, I can't!
A simple phrase yet it is too much!
But I must say it, I must!
Goodbye old friend
Goodbye

This is sweet. Having a pet certainly does tug at the heartstrings! If you have time, check out my piece, "Do All Dogs Really Go To Heaven?"
