Food Review
Old London Melba Toast- I purchased the classic variety. Inside of the box were four wrapped packages of Melba Toast inside each wrapped package were 5 pieces of Melba Toast. The Melba Toast were rectangular in shape and very light and crunchy to taste. The classic variety was flavorless (but not bland) and tasted similar to a nice slice of toasted bread (just better.) At just 80 calories, 1gram of fat and no saturated or trans fat, Melba Toast proves to be a great option to bread, and makes the perfect afternoon snack eaten alone or with a side or topping. Melba Toast comes in a few varieties some of which include, whole grain, wheat, and Rosemary& Olive Oil. I was very delighted at the light but delicious taste of Melba Toast. This product receives a 5 out of 5.
Old London Melba Snacks- I purchased the roasted garlic variety. The snacks were not individually wrapped but were packaged in one plastic bag similar to the packing of chips or Triscuits. The Melba Snacks appeared to be seasoned and circular in shape. I found the roasted garlic variety to be heavenly delicious with a crisp, thick crunch. The Melba Snacks were crunchy and tasteful, and the garlic taste was not overpowering. The snacks were seasoned in such a way that reminded me of French Onion Sun Chips but without all of the salt. At just 50 calories and 1 gram of fat, Old London Melba Snacks make for convenient snacking. Melba Snacks come in additional varieties such as; white cheddar, sesame, and spicy 3 pepper. I enjoyed these snacks, they were extremely tasteful and crunchy without the fat and trans fat. These snacks make a great alternative to chips for me. The shapes of these snacks make them great for topping with dip or any other topping. These Melba Snacks rate a 5 out of 5. I would give these snacks a higher rating if I could.
Old London Bagel Snacks- I purchased the garlic variety. These bagel snacks came in a singular bag inside of the box and were not individually wrapped. The Bagel Snacks were circular in shape just like the Melba Snacks but the taste was horrid. I bit into one of these bagel snacks and was greeted with a mouthful of salt. The seasoning was so intense that my taste buds were left stinging. I could not fully enjoy the garlic taste as I was overtaken by the ridiculous amount of salt on just one single bagel snack! These are a supposed alternative to bagels but if I had to choose between a calorie laden bagel or a salty bagel snack I would choose the calorie laden bagel. I could not finish the box because of the salty content. I was very displeased with this product. These snacks have 60 calories and 3 grams of fat per serving. Old London Bagel Snacks come in a garlic, original and poppy seed variety. Old London Bagel Snacks Garlic gets a 1 out of 5 rating.
Old London Melba Toast and Old London Melba Snacks will make a great alternative to breads, crackers, or even bagels as they are light and crunchy and can be topped with many toppings; from fruit, vegetables, or cheese. The best attribute of these products are that they are tasteful without the fat (trans fats), and cholesterol.
