When I think back on an old love,
I remember my lover from the past.
He was so kind, gentle and caring.
I wonder why our love did not last?
We made a promise to each other,
that we would get married one day.
But it seems destiny had other plans,
all our hopes and dreams went away.
Now we are both married to other people,
we haven't seen each other in years.
Whenever I think about my old love,
I cannot stop the steady flow of tears.
