Old Navy Jeans - A Fit for All Types

Erin Duff
Jeans can be a girl's best friend. Why? A good pair of jeans can be worn to some workplaces, while you're out for the weekend, or on a night when you want to be comfortable around the house. Jeans can be versatile, worn when you don't feel confident, and worn when you need a quick pick-me-up. Believe it or not, a pair of jeans can do all of these things, so this is why it's important to pick the right pair.

Old Navy jeans have been in women's fashion magazines for years now because as the brand has grown, their jeans have become more popular due to the fact that they fit different body types and that they are flattering no matter what size a woman may be. Of course, you need to consider the color and the style chosen, and a woman can find the right pair of jeans for a good price.

I needed a new pair of jeans, so my husband and I went shopping this weekend at Old Navy. I had heard Old Navy jeans were a great brand and had bought some a few years ago, but because I live far away from a store, I usually ended up buying my jeans at American Eagle Outfitters or another similar store. I was very happy to see that Old Navy still provided the kind of jeans I liked, and that there were different styles for all women.

Before I explain the different styles of jeans available, I want to point out that for all styles available that there are options for petite, regular, and tall.

I began with the Old Navy Flirt jeans, which have a mid-rise fit. They sit just below the waist, and are straight through the hip and the thigh. They are available in boot-cut, skinny, trouser, and flare leg styles. I chose a pair that were boot-cut, as this is best for my body type. I tried them on and they were very soft, very comfortable, and fit well. I was sold before I was done trying them on! I also had a shirt to try on, and I wore it with the jeans I had chosen to purchase. The colors went well together, and the jeans were flattering. I feel like the Flirt jeans are good for the average body type, and would recommend these the most. The current cost of these jeans is $25 per pair, but the price without sales is as much as $34.50.

The next pair of jeans in the collection are the dreamer jeans. They are a Classic rise, which sit naturally at your waist. They run straight through the hip and thigh, have a boot-cut style, and include a front panel which slims the stomach. These jeans are best for someone who wants comfort and needs slimming in certain areas. The jeans come in several different washes, ranging from dark blue to a very light blue denim. The current price is $34.50.

The weekend jeans are aptly named, because these jeans are what you would wear in a more casual, laid-back environment. They are extremely comfortable, as they have a relaxed boyfriend fit. They sit low on the waist, and have a casual straight leg cut. These jeans are a bit different from the rest in the collection, as they roll up into a cuff, similar to a capri style of pants. They're best worn with flats or sandals. The current price listed is $34.50.

The ever-popular (but not for everyone) jean is the skinny jean, which Old Navy has included in the collection. They have a tight fit, and taper as the leg goes down. They are best worn with flats or sandals as well. The colors range from dark blues to grays, to light blues. The current price is $34.50.

A favorite of many is the Diva jean, which has a low rise that sits on your hips, and then slims through the hips and the thigh. They are available in boot-but, skinny, trouser, and flare leg styles. The Diva is a popular choice because the jeans have several style options available. As I've stated before, I prefer boot-cut, so that is what I chose with these jeans. They are also very comfortable, and are versatile. They are priced at $34.50

All of the Old Navy jeans are available in sizes from 0 Petite-20 Regular. You can buy the jeans in-store and online at OldNavy.com.

I think Old Navy's jeans have styles, colors, and cuts available for everyone. I feel confident that I could leave with several different styles of jeans, and be happy with the purchases I made. Old Navy has sales throughout the year, and I don't think I've ever had to pay full price for any of my jean purchases. They are priced right, fit well, and most importantly, can make me feel good about what I'm wearing. After all, isn't that the point?
