Old-Fashioned Pumpkin Pie

WriterG
Americans love their pie. Pie has always been a favorite dessert in most American households. It takes good cooking skills to make a really delicious pie and that is why some refrain from making a home made pie, especially during the holidays. A good pie begins with a good crust. The crust should be tender and flaky. It should easily crumble when a fork or knife is sliced through it. And of course the crust should have a good taste. The preparer could buy the pastry shell or the more experienced might wish to make their own pastry shell. Here is an old fashioned pumpkin pie recipe that is great for the holidays or anytime of the year.

Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Ingredients

1 Pastry Shell
1 ½ Cups Canned Pumpkin
1 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1 ½ Teaspoons Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Ginger
½ Teaspoon Salt
2 Eggs
1 ½ Cups Milk
½ Cup Light Cream

Step One - Place pastry shell in a pie pan, and then mix the pumpkin, sugar, spices, and salt together in a medium size bowl.

Step Two - Slightly beat the eggs in a small bowl. Take the eggs and mix with the pumpkin, sugar, spices, and salt mixture. Add the light cream and stir.

Step Three - Take the mixture and pour into the pie or pastry shell. Spread evenly.

Step Four - Bake the pumpkin pie mixture at 450 for about 15 minutes, then lower the oven temperature to 325 degrees and bake 25 to 30 minutes longer.
Remove from the oven when completely cooked. Let cool and top with whipped cream or Cool Whip and serve.
