Olive oil is a great hair treatment. You can pour a cup or two cups if you have extra long hair into a microwave safe bowl. Heat up in the microwave for 45 seconds pull out check temperature and heat again as needed. You want the oil to be very warm but not too hot to touch. Then take a small squeeze container like an old picnic ketchup holder, pour the warm oil inside and use this to apply the olive oil to your hair. Start at the scalp and work out. Once your whole head is covered than take a small towel wet it and microwaves it as well till hot. Wrap around your hair and head, keep on your head for at least 30 minutes but you can leave on for hours without it hurting or getting smelly. Than just take a shower and wash out. This is a cheap version of the fancy hot oil treatments you get in a salon and yet still so great for your hair. It will be shinier and smoother once done.
This great oil is also used on cuticles in many nail salons. Whenever you use a nail polish remover or beat up your cuticles while getting a manicure it is a good idea to rub some olive oil over your fingers. This will bring the moisture back into the skin around your nails and also put a shine into the nail itself.
Another wonderful use for olive oil is for storage of certain spices and foods. You can store dried tomatoes chopped garlic in olive oil and it will keep for months in the fridge.
Than of course there are the standard uses such as using olive oil for recipes such as salad dressings, pesto, marinades, and cakes for moisture. You can also use it to paint on your grill when cool to help with sticking of meats once the grill is hot.
Lastly you can use a ½ a cup of olive oil and a cup and a half of sugar. This can be used as a sugar rub on your feet and hands to help take off dead skin and moisturize your feet and hands more than a lotion will.
Olive oil is such a great product for almost any kind moisturizing use as well as cooking. The neutral smell and flavor allows you to use it easily and pleasantly on skin and hair without the smell of mayonnaise or eggs if let sit too long. Its many uses also makes it handy to have large bottles on hand for anything you need.
