"Let's Talk About Tomorrow"
Olivia Newton-John recorded rock songs about causes like the environment, animal rights, and AIDS awareness when almost no one else had considered those kinds of songs. Fans noted that songs with such a strong theme are often written or co-written by Olivia herself, and this song is no exception. It's an exuberant anthem to the world around us. The video to "Let's Talk About Tomorrow" matches the lyrics and spirit of the song perfectly. The song is from "The Rumour" album, and the video is from the "Olivia Newton-John: Down Under" television special.
"Soul Kiss"
In this sensual video from the album of the same name, "Soul Kiss" features Olivia Newton-John partnered with then-husband Matt Lattanzi in a variety of classic movie romantic scenes, from films such as "Gone with The Wind," "Casablanca," and "Wuthering Heights." The movie scenes are shot in black and white, while the parts where Olivia is singing into the camera are shot in color, where she is wearing a bright red in a red bed and singing longingly to Matt.
"I Honestly Love You"
Olivia re-recorded her iconic song from the 1970s, "I Honestly Love You," in 1998. In this music video, she is seen standing up for animals, as she released a lobster that her love in the film had intended to be dinner. She is seen singing from a lighthouse with a deep longing. The video is shot to create a sort of dream-like mood, and it really showcases the enduring beauty of the singer.
"Take a Chance"
John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John perform one of the most romantic duets of their careers in this underrated and under-hyped music video of the soundtrack to their film, "Two of a Kind." The "Take a Chance" video was released on MTV, then later on the "Twist of Fate" VHS and Gold DVD. It shows the chemistry shared by the two performers and the vocal talents of both as the two fall for one another amidst what seems to be a film set.
"Totally Hot"
Olivia Newton-John's 1978 music video to Totally Hot is fun and flirty. Featuring Olivia in a black outfit, not unlike the one she had just created a stir with in the closing number of "Grease," she's wearing what appears to be the same outfit that she wore on the cover photo of the LP of the same name that premiered that year as well. The video also seems to follow the real "Olivia" as she signs autographs for groups of fans and dances around a shopping center. Only Olivia has great stills from the video.
"Reach Out For Me"
The music video of "Reach Out for Me" premiered with a half-hour special on VH1. The song is from Olivia's album of lullabies and love songs, "Warm and Tender." It features Olivia singing and relating to a group of children in a picturesque golden field. Olivia's daughter, Chloe, and goddaughter, Colette, appeared together in the music video. Colette would tragically die from cancer a couple of years after the video was filmed, and Olivia has been active in the charity that was started by Colette's parents in Colette's honor, Healthy Child Healthy World.
"No Matter What You Do"
As the first and only official music video made for Olivia Newton-John's awe-inspiring, uplifting and independently released album "Gaia," the video for "No Matter What You Do" was Olivia's music video return after overcoming breast cancer. It's exuberant, high energy, and fun, as she sings amidst a backdrop of a surreal waterfall and lovely Australian countryside. The song will have you happily singing along for days.
"The Promise (Dolphin Song)"
The music video of "The Dolphin Song" originally premiered in Olivia Newton-John's 1982 TV special, "Let's Get Physical," according to "The New York Times." The song, which reflected Newton-John's love for dolphins and her activism for them, was from her album, "Physical," and it showcased the singer swimming with dolphins. She sings, "Let us hope it's not too late and that we can amend all the pain we have suffered on a friend."
"Winter Angel"
This music video is from Olivia's HBO special, "Olivia Newton-John: Down Under." The song itself was released only on the B side of her single of "The Rumour." In the music video, Olivia and daughter Chloe are seen in breathtaking footage of the two running and frolicking and resting by the ocean on an Australian beach.
"Silvery Rain"
In another rock song and music video about the environment, "Silvery Rain" from "Physical" was ahead of its time. While the meaning of several things in the video have been debated among fans, Olivia appears to be alive after a huge world disaster, and it features her in several different scenarios that much the radical rock lyrics.
