It the March 3 issue of US News we see the efforts by the Chinese government to place a three month old child under house arrest and suppress her father's voice as an activist. A THREE MONTH OLD, under state government control, is being guarded as if she is a serial killer. Her crime is being the daughter of a man who dared to raise his voice against the Chinese government.
The last time a nation so disposed hosted the games was Nazi Germany in 1936. Have we as an nation, as a world, lost our moral compass? Are we willing to lower our standards so much that a bastard nation can host the Games?
The Chinese have gone too far. Their efforts to present a facade of happiness, growth, and wealth to the world at the Sumer Games is hiding the bare truth that the Chinese nation is devoid of all morality. The Chinese destroy human life, tramp on human rights, disband religions, censor the internet, control education and the media and place three month old girl under house arrest. In short, the Chinese are depraved of all semblance of human decency and mutual respect and therein unworthy of the title Olympic hosts.
I have always admired the athletes who train and work for years in order to obtain a chance to participate in the Olympic Games. This year, however, the United States of America cannot participate. We cannot send our athletes, our American ambassadors of goodwill, to the Chinese death camps that are the Olympic venues. We must boycott the Games!
I applaud Mr. Speilberg for his personal boycott. We as a nation must boycott them as well.
Whatever our religion, our economic, ethnic or social status, we cannot participate in the games of this Olympiad. The United States of America was founded on religious and personal human rights, we refuse to recognize a Chinese nation that has not come into the 18th century. Yet alone the 21st.
