Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 Waterproof Digital Camera Review

If you're looking for a tough digital camera that can handle the extreme you should purchase the Olympus Stylus Tough-6000 digital camera. The digital camera provides 10 megapixels for taking pictures. According to Olympus America the Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 is waterproof down to ten feet, shockproof up to a five foot drop, shakeproof, crushproof as well as freezeproof down to fourteen degrees. This will allow you to use the camera to the extreme. Personally, I use my camera on fishing trips where I need a nice compact digital camera that will repel water so I can take those pictures of the fish I catch. Not only is the camera good for a day out on the lake or river, but you can take it camping, hiking or any other rugged area where you don't have to worry about breaking the digital camera.

The Olympus Stylus Tough-6000 comes in a variety of colors such as such as blue, orange, yellow and grey. The LCD screen where you can view what you're snapping a picture of is around three inches. The Olympus Stylus Tough-6000 also has forty-two megabytes of internal memory. The Stylus Tough-6000 has around a 3.6x optical zoom as well as a 5x digital zoom. The Tough-6000 retails for around $250 dollars. The Tough 6000 comes with an usb cable, a/v cable, wrist strap, lithium battery as well as a wall charger and an Olympus Master 2 Software program.

This camera has many uses especially if you're an outdoor enthusiast that needs a solid camera to take with you and not have to worry about breaking something for the most part. If you like kayaking this camera would be perfect to use on your excursions to capture those moments that only kayakers know.

The negatives on the Olympus Stylus Tough-6000 are that the battery life is limited and requires charging. Also, when you're in movie mode the camera will not zoom into what you're capturing. Another issue is the picture quality is not as good as other comparable 10 mg digital cameras, but that could be based on the rugged construction and designed use of the camera.

Overall, if you're an outdoor enthusiast that needs a nice compact digital camera to carry on your trips I'd recommend this camera. I'd recommend not pushing the feet limits on the camera such as submerging the camera more than 5-6 feet even though the manufacturer says it can handle up to 10 feet.
