On a Sunday morning in Santa Monica breakfast possibilities are endless, but for a bustling quirky atmosphere Main Street is the place to be. Nestled next to Pinkberry, a Sunday farmer's market, and dozens of clothing stores is the Omelette Parlor. This large restaurant has 2 sides, and an outdoor patio which was where my date and I dined. The patio was super cute with ivy overgrown on the buildings surrounding this little outdoor atrium that was pack to the hilt with casually dressed parents with children, couples on dates, and friends having breakfast.

The wait to get seated took less than 5 minutes, and the group just behind us had 9 people in its party and I overheard them being told they would be seated in about 15 minutes, on a Sunday morning at 11:30am. That's pretty good if you ask me.

Looking at the menu, I was surprised to find that there were only about 4 signature omelettes, and if none were appealing, there was always the last resort of "building your own." There were many other choices of sandwiches, and French toast and such; but one would think if a place were named for a specific cuisine or dish that there would be an abundance of choices to be had.

Our order consisted of: Coffee, orange juice, Diet Coke, the French toast combo, and a built omelette with bacon, avocado, jack cheese, and sausage.

I had high hopes for the Omelette Parlor, but I have to admit I was let down. It took around twenty-five minutes for our order to make it to our table after the order was placed, and the food was not warm. The omelette was awful; the cheese was shredded inside the omelette and not melted at all, the bacon was thick cut chewy old bacon chunks that were not warm, and the sausage was old as well. Coming from a seasoned breakfast connoisseur, it would seam that they must've cooked the egg, removed it from the heat, tossed in my specified ingredients that were pre-cooked and sitting in bins, and flapped over the egg to resemble an omelette. The French toast combo came with 4 pieces of French toast, scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and a sausage patty. The French toast's bread to egg ratio was a little askew and was very "bready," but all in all it was an alright meal.

We ended up spending exactly $40, ($34.28+ tip) on this meal.

Some information worth noting: Omelette Parlor does not list their menu online anywhere which I did call to confirm. Their sodas all come in cans and cost $2.25 per 12oz can; since they do not have a fountain machine there are no free refills. Omelette Parlor has a cashier at the front of the restaurant that you pay on your way out- which is convenient because nobody likes to be held hostage after a meal waiting on their change, but is also inconvenient because after you pay, you have to bustle your way back to your table to tip. Lastly, if it's busy try to double down on water because the service was scarce; only coming to the table to take order, deliver drinks, deliver food, and deliver check. There were no check-ins throughout the meal for refills or satisfaction gaging.
