Omigosh! Barack Obama is the Antichrist! or is He?

One of the more weird and strange accusations thrown at Barack Obama is that he is the Antichrist that will herald the end of the world; I would have certainly loved to hear his initial reaction when he heard this. How would one respond when being called the ultimate evil on earth? You can't respond! To justify such an idiotic assertion with a response would end his chances at winning on Election Day.

Imagine the thirty second TV spot "I'm Barack Obama and I assure you that I'm not the Antichrist"

Imagine the reaction on that nights Colbert Report and assorted comedy talk shows along with the rest of the mass media.

But by not refuting such allegations a section of the Internet's blogosphere allied with the far far religious right, have run amok spreading doomsday scenarios in the wake of an Obama victory. I call them the Obama-Christs.

After exhaustive research (clicking open the first page when googling "characteristics of the Antichrist") here is a point by point analysis if Obama were to become president, would he be the Antichrist?

1. He comes from among ten kings in the restored Roman Empire; his authority will have similarities to the ancient Babylonians, Persians, and Greeks [Daniel 7:24; Rev 13:2 / Daniel 7:7]

This one is tricky. Obviously there isn't an Roman Empire anymore, but if you were to assume that the European Union is part of the "Restored Roman Empire" then this makes a little more sense. Don't forget that it was the "Treaty of Rome" that ultimately led to the formation of the union.

Where the EU is the political union of Europe, NATO is its military force, one that the US is actually a part of, so the combined EU/NATO union would be even more powerful than the old Roman Empire during its height of power.

So in the end, President Obama will be one of the ten kings talked about here.

The second part is a little more straightforward "his authority will have similarities to the ancient Babylonians, Persians, and Greeks" the US president is easily the most powerful position on Earth so if Obama were to win he will obliviously inherit that power.

Final Analysis: True (After a lot of assumptions)

2. He will subdue three kings [Daniel 7:8, 24]

Depends on what you describe as "Kings" If we take the literal form, then will Obama declare war on the future King Charles of the UK? Or maybe he will set his sights on the Saudi Royal Family or the House of Tupou? (Look it up)

If you, however, take a non-literal form and really stretch the meaning of the word 'king', then Obama would have already subdued three kings in the form of Hillary Clinton, John McCain and George W. Bush if he were to win the presidency. Of course this latter option is really stretching things but when has that ever stopped really determined idiots?

3. He is different from the other kings [Daniel 7:24]

The rallying call of the Obama-Christs. Obama is different, he says so himself and we all can agree that this is true.

4. He will rise from obscurity...a "little horn" [Daniel 7:8]

We all know his back story by now so this is an easy one, although I'm really not sure what "little horn" means.

Final Analysis: True

5. He will speak boastfully [Daniel 7:8; Rev 13:5]

Not to insult the guy, but he does "boast" about things like change, hope, racial equality and stuff like that.

Final Analysis: True

6. He will blaspheme God, [Daniel 7:25; 11:36; Rev 13:5] slandering His Name, dwelling place, and departed Christians and Old Testament saints [Rev 13:6]

Utter Crap, Obama never has slandered God or Christians (Political Suicide!) nor will he do so. Although Obama-Christs will point to his "Gods and Guns" quote.

7. He will oppress the saints and be successful for 3 ½ years [Daniel 7:25; Rev 13:7]

This world has saints? Really? Where? And even if they do indeed exist, then I can't see a US administration adopting a policy of oppression against them, although Obama-Christs will refer to his Pro-Gay, Pro-Abortion, Pro-Sex Ed positions as persecutions.

8. He will try to change the calendar, perhaps to define a new era, related to himself [Daniel 7:25]

Is that what Obama means by change? Hey that wouldn't be such a bad idea! We could do away with Mondays! And we could add another Sunday! I probably am dreaming and the Obama-Christs are too.

Analysis: False

9. He will try to change the laws, perhaps to gain an advantage for his new kingdom and era [Dan 7:25]

DUH! That's what politicians are supposed to do! Assuming kingdom means country.

Analysis: True (But come on!)

10. He will not be succeeded by another earthly ruler, but by Christ [Daniel 7:26-27]

Assuming he is indeed the Antichrist, then that is precisely what will happen according to Christians, but how exactly is this supposed to be a characteristic of the Antichrist?

Analysis: Irrelevant

11. He will confirm a covenant with "many", i.e. the Jewish people [Daniel 9:27] This covenant will likely involve the establishment of a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem[see Dan 9:27; Matt 24:15]

A Jewish temple coming up in Jerusalem? Shocking! But I think this has more to do with the destruction of Islamic holy sites and replacing them with Jewish temples as there were in ancient times, Something Barack Hussein Obama will probably not support,

Analysis: False

12. He will put an end to Jewish sacrifice and offerings after 3 ½ years and will set up an abomination to God in the Temple [Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15]

In order for him to do that he would need authority over Israel, something like making it the 51st state which is NEVER going to happen within the next four years, no chance.

13. He will not answer to a higher earthly authority; "He will do as he pleases"[Daniel 11:36]

DUH! Again. Is there a more powerful authority than the US Presidency in the country and the world? Didn't think so.

14. He will show no regard for the religion of his ancestors [Daniel 11:37]

You can't win with Obama-Christs on this one. He has basically rejected his paternal Islamic faith by not joining it and now he has left the church which he was a member of for decades, so based on that he would be guilty as charged, but this is a simpleminded way of looking at the issue, not that it will stop the Obama-Christs.

15. He will not believe in any god at all [except for himself] [Daniel 11:37]

I haven't heard him extolling his God-like abilities but until the day comes when we can scan the minds of presidential candidates, I cannot say what's in Obama's mind.

16. He will have "no regard for the desire of women": He will either be asexual or homosexual [Dan 11:37]

I'm sure that his wife and kids would be distressed to hear that.

17. He will claim to be greater than any god [Daniel 11:37; 2 Thess 2:4]

Obama will claim to be better than any God, (sighs) Now that I think about it, Obama does really rag on Bush doesn't he? And isn't Bush divinely inspired by God? As Bush himself said. And if Obama says he can do better than Bush, then he really must mean that he can do a better job than God.

OMYGOSH! OBAMA IS THE ANTICHRIST!

If you believe George W. Bush which nobody does nowadays.

18. He will claim to be God [2 Thessalonians 2:4]

First you say that he will claim to be better than any God and then you say he will claim to BE God, just how many Gods are there in Christianity? Or are we now talking about Hinduism? Is there even an Antichrist in Hinduism?

19. He will only honor a "god" of the military. His whole focus and attention will be on his military. He will conquer lands and distribute them [Daniel 11:39-44]

I thought he was only going to honor himself? Where did this military God come from? And in any case is this how he is going to take over Israel? By force? Are we forgetting that Israel has nuclear weapons? Will he do it anyway? Will Bill Clinton grab a gun and defend Israel like he promised? Oh the questions!

20. His arrival on the world scene will be accompanied by miracles, signs and wonders [2 Thess 2:9]

He's already covered people fainting in his rallies and when he's president, he will focus on waking them up! But so-called miracles happen every day on earth and will continue to happen regardless if Obama is elected.

21. Either he, or his companion [The False Prophet], will claim to be Christ [Matt 24:21-28]

Alright I'm keeping count here so Obama will

1. Be better than most Gods.

2. Will be The God himself

3. Will honor some other military God even though he's the Top Dog God

4. And now he will be Jesus himself!

I don't believe this, so it must mean it is Joseph Biden, his running mate. Which will probably kick off my spin-off article "Is Joseph Biden really The False Prophet?" following my second spin-off article "Is Joseph Biden really Jesus Christ?"

22. He will claim that Jesus did not come in the flesh, or that Jesus did not rise bodily from the grave [2 John 7]. He will deny that Jesus is the Messiah [I John 2:22]

His buddy Joe Biden will probably not be too happy to hear that.

I would love to be at that Press conference, wouldn't you? It would probably go something like this

Obama: I or my running mate is Jesus Christ!

Then

Obama: Jesus was a lie! It's all lies! Suckers!

23. He will be worshiped by many people [Rev. 13:8]

A lot of people do in fact worship this guy, from Obama Girl to the yet to be released Obama Granny.

24. He will hate a nation that initially will have some control over his kingdom, but he will destroy this nation [Rev 17:16-18]

Irrelevant to the question now if Obama is the Antichrist.

25. He will appear to survive a fatal injury [Rev. 13:3; 17:8]

26. His name will be related to the number six hundred and sixty six-but not necessarily in an obvious fashion [Rev 13:17-18]

Indeed, if you count the amount of letters in Barack Hussein Obama's name you get 18 and how do you get 18? You add 6 three times which makes it 666

Analysis: True (Sorry Bill Gates, Nero, Hitler, Stalin and all the Popes)

27. He will be empowered by the devil himself [Rev. 13:2]

How am I supposed to know this? Like I said at the start of this article Barack Obama isn't talking and I assume If I were to call on Satan he would ask me for my soul, which I really don't think is a fair exchange.

Analysis: Unknown.

Seriously I do not think that Barack Obama is the Antichrist, but I opened my mind to its possibility during writing this article. I did what passes for research in this internet age, I googled and I googled and I drank coffee while googling. I outright rejected articles claiming that the Bible foresaw a Muslim becoming the world's leader since there was no Islamic faith when the Bible books were written.

The one thing I do know that practically every single powerful leader has been called the Antichrist since the birth of Christianity, from Nero to the Popes to the Protestant Reformation leaders to the 20th century Hitler, Stalin, and even Saddam Hussian not to forget every single US president.

It's become an international pastime and a sad one at that, One that should stop because it's just pathetic. I tried to write this article with a serious tone but that quickly descended into parody because many of the claims were too outlandish to be taken seriously.

Final Analysis: Is Barack Obama the Antichrist?

Answer: No

But that's just a guess, see you in about four years and by then it should be clearer. Goodbye!
