On American Idol's April 14 Show, Allison Iraheta Rocks the House

This week's theme on American Idol is "Idol Goes To The Movies" and the contestants were asked to choose a song from the movies. World-renowned director Quentin Tarantino was the guest mentor. At the beginning of the show, Ryan explained that the judges would be commenting on tonight's performances in teams of two, rather than all four judges commenting after each contestant's performance since the show ran over by almost ten minutes last week. Simon said it was the ladies fault that last weeks show ran over because they talked too much.

Allison Iraheta kicked off the show with Don't Want To Miss A Thing by Journey from the movie Armageddon. Allison owned the song from the first note and made it her own. She rocked it out tonight and hit every note. She took command of the stage and looked like a seasoned performer rather than a 16 year old high school student.

After her standing ovation performance, Paula said, " You possess the same sauce that Adam does. You have authenticity. You're a talented professional." Simon, picking up on Paula's sauce comment said, "You were hot and spicy tonight." He went on to say, "I think you are the girls' only hope left in the competition. You're getting stronger and more confident. It's amazing that a girl your age can sing that well. I'm confident that we'll see you in the end."

The votes are coming in now, and in past weeks, Allison has landed in the bottom three. It doesn't look like that is going to happen tomorrow, especially after she delivered such a perfect performance. Look for Allison to be the last women standing after tomorrow night's live results show. Tune in tomorrow night at 9:00 PM EST on FOX. Allison's version of Don't Want To Miss A Thing is available on iTunes
