This week the contestants were given a wide range of song choices from iTunes most popular download list and American Top 40. Anoop chose to turn things up and perform Usher's Caught Up with a more upbeat and R&B sound that his moving ballad last week. He delivered a great vocal and look very comfortable performing in his natural R&B style. However, the judges once again, were not overly impressed with his performance reminding him of Usher's great dancing abilities while he is performing.
Randy said, "You picked up your swager. It was vocally cool, but I'm not sure you chose the right song." Kara hit him with a stinger and one of the toughest comments so far, saying, "It looks like the frat guys dared you to sing Usher." Paula enjoyed his playful side and thought he had great stage presence. Simon, as usual, didn't mince words and said, "It was a complete and utter mess. It came over as a wannabe. It gave me headache."
Anoop's fan base continues to grow each week and there is no doubt that he will receive millions of votes tonight from his adoring fans. Anoop is one of the best singers in the competition and Idol fans will be seeing a lot more of him. Anoop's performance tonight of Caught Up is available for download on iTunes along with the song from the other eight contestants as well. Tomorrow night's live results show will air at 9:00 PM on FOX.

Post a CommentI don't think Anoop can sing. However I DID like when he sang "My Prerogative".
I agree Anoop is one of the best singers in the competition. I had never heard Caught Up before tonight but I loved it. I don't understand where Kara & Simon are coming from. It's as if they are hearing something different from the rest of us. The comments for the other contestants were just as puzzling. Adam=Mick Jagger? Srsly? No way in the world!!! Judges thought Scott was good tonight? Talk about pitchy!!! Idgi. What is wrong with the judges? Favorites, anyone?
