I awakend, startled, with an urgency to scream
Taken aback by the sight of her angelic wave
I reached out, trying to understand all she had to say
With out stretched wings and a halo of gold
She produced visions of you that I longed to hold
My heart sank low when I realized what was true
You were unreachable, and there was nothing I could do
I asked the angel "Oh, why must it be?"
She replied, "Soon dear, her soul will be free"
My eyes began tasting the tears
As my heart began to let loose it's bitter sweet fears
The angel held me tight in her arms
And promised me that you were in no harm
I found peace in her wings of love
And gave thanks, to my Lord above
Thanks for sending this angel to me
To take away all grief and help me to clearly see
That sometimes God sends angels with out stretched wings
To help us in patience, through the loneliest of things
