Wasn't it Bush who chose to show Iraq just how strong our military was one night about 5-years ago, 4,000 American dead bodies ago, with an artillery display of mega-proportions designed to show the Iraqi people just how big of an intimidating bully we can be while looking for our Cibola-famed weapons of mass destruction ghosts?
Laughing!!! What a great choice of word this "hectoring" is for Bush to bring to our attention attached to his name. Specifically, in a Reuters article today, it is explained that Bush is defending Iraq, telling our Congress to quit hectoring. Click here to see this full story.
From the web-site ThatsWeird.net, here are some of my other favorite Bush quotes:
"I have opinions of my own, strong opinions, but I don't always agree with them."
"I'm the commander - see, I don't need to explain - I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being President."
"Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"
"If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier - so long as I'm the dictator."
"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."
It has been fun for me to follow our President through his years of word-blunders. For many people that is the best thing about politics, watching for when the speech giver gives an incredible "Ooops". I've been led to believe that Bush went to school, but have to pause at times to wonder how his grades were doing at the time.
Bush asking Congress not to bully Iraq today also seems a bit funny coupled with the idea that Bush would like to send more troops into Iraq instantly, while the democrats and other caring Americans are suggesting that we bring our troops home now. Congress is against sending more troops into Iraq instantly, which makes them the bully?
Actually, I do understand why Bush chose to use the word "hectoring" today without thought; this is our latest political buzz word being used in both the Clinton and Obama campaign circles and this reflected in the media. Our president probably understood that this word is having its hey-day in the American headlines this week, and used the word just because everybody else was using it.
We'll be having a changing-of-the-guards soon at the White House. I'm going to really miss the Bush speeches and comments that are so entertaining.

Post a CommentAlong time ago I found a Bush doll that quoted some of his biggest "oopses." I thought is was such a novel gift I purchased it and gave it to a Bush Supporting friend of mine. All these years later, she doesn't support Bush any more, but she still gets a kick out of that stupid doll.
