Megan Joy changed her look slightly for this week's performance. She kept with the sleeveless outfit in order to display her full arm tattoo but instead of a dress, she opted for a top with a pair of jeans. The top had gold chains for straps and she coupled that with several necklaces that made her look like a Mr. T wannabe.
Bob Marley's Turn Your Lights Down Low is a soulful song that should be sung from the depths of your heart's desires. Megan Joy sang an almost monotone rendition that was painful to listen to. Simon called her performance boring and that is exactly what it was. It was more than a poor song choice, Megan Joy does not have the vocals to sing it.
The Megan wiggle was more in line with the music than in previous performances. In the past, it appeared that she had to think about her choreographed wiggle while singing. On Tuesday night's performance, Megan did look more relaxed at the microphone but that will not be enough to help her poor singing over the last three weeks. I don't think American Idol voters can handle another week with Megan at the microphone.
There were only a few high points in Tuesday night's American Idol performances. I think the worst performances were Anoop's and Megan's. I will give Anoop a slight edge only because his vocals were better than Megan Joy's. If Megan is not voted off of American Idol this week then it won't be long until she is gone.
The judges have said in the past that they liked Megan's quirkiness. Unfortunately, her quirkiness is not going to save her from going home on Wednesday night's American Idol results show.
Updated April 1st: As it turned out Megan Joy was the performer with the lowest number of votes. The judges did not even try to save her and told her that before she performed her song one last time. Simon told her to "enjoy her swan song".

Post a CommentYep. Was pretty bad.
Yep, I couldn't stand Megan and I am glad she went home. Great job.
nice recap.
I agree she was horrible!
I always thought Megan was horrible. I have no clue how she managed to even get past the first round of auditions. Great write-up.
I liked her voice on some of the songs but GOD help her if she ever gets on "Dancing With The Stars".
I agree, and now she's gone.
I'm not big on tattoos myself but admit I like her as a singer - her hippy style. She makes me laugh. I have to agree with you though on last night's performance. It wasn't good.
Oh, goodness, Megan was AWFUL! We had to fast-forward through her song. I hope she leaves the competition tonight.
Haven't watched the show this season, but from what you say....this girl sounds like a goner! ;-)
